  • 1 يناير
    • مع بزوغ الفجر، عبر الكولونيل جورج مونك ، قائد الجيش الإنجليزي ، برفقة لواءين من قوات الاحتلال الاسكتلندية، نهر تويد عند كولدستريم في اسكتلندا لعبور الحدود الأنجلو-اسكتلندية عند نورثمبرلاند ، في مهمة للتقدم نحو لندن لإنهاء الحكم العسكري لإنجلترا بقيادة الجنرال جون لامبرت، ولتحقيق عودة الملكية إلى إنجلترا. وبحلول نهاية اليوم، كان هو وجنوده قد قطعوا مسافة 24  كيلومترًا (15  ميلًا) عبر ثلوج تصل إلى الركبة وصولًا إلى وولر، بينما قطعت طليعة سلاح الفرسان مسافة 80  كيلومترًا (50  ميلًا) للوصول إلى موربيث .   • 6 يناير - أصدر البرلمان المتبقي قرارًا يطلب من العقيد مونك القدوم إلى لندن "بأسرع ما يمكن"، تبعه قرار بالموافقة في 12 يناير وتصويت بالشكر ودفع سنوي قدره 1000 جنيه إسترليني مدى الحياة في 16 يناير. [ 6 ]
  • 11 يناير - التقى العقيد مونك والعقيد فيرفاكس في يورك ، ثم استعدا للتوجه جنوبًا نحو لندن، وجمعا الفارين من جيش لامبرت على طول الطريق. [ 3 ]
  • في السادس عشر من يناير ، زحف الكولونيل مونك جنوبًا نحو نوتنغهام، بجيش قوامه 4000 جندي مشاة و1800 فارس (جيش كافٍ لإرهاب العدو دون إثارة الشكوك)، [ 6 ] وكانت وجهته النهائية لندن. أُعيد الكولونيل توماس مورغان إلى اسكتلندا برفقة فوجين من الفرسان لتعزيز القوات هناك.
  • 31 يناير - أقر البرلمان المتبقي ترقية العقيد جورج مونك إلى رتبة جنرال، وتلقى تكليف الرتبة أثناء وجوده في سانت ألبانز . [ 1 ]
  • في الثالث من فبراير ، دخل الجنرال جورج مونك، على رأس قواته، لندن ممتطياً جواده، برفقة كبار ضباطه ومفوضي البرلمان المتبقي. دُقّت الأجراس أثناء مرورهم، لكن الحشود في الشوارع لم تكن متحمسة، ودهش الجنود من الاستقبال المختلف تماماً عن الاستقبال الذي لاقوه في أماكن أخرى خلال مسيرتهم. [ 6 ] [ 7 ]
  • 13 فبراير - أصبح تشارلز الحادي عشر ملكًا للسويد في سن الخامسة، بعد وفاة والده، تشارلز العاشر غوستافوس .
  • 26 فبراير - صوّت البرلمان المتبقي ، تحت ضغط من الجنرال مونك، على استدعاء جميع الأعضاء الباقين على قيد الحياة من مجموعة النواب الـ 231 الذين تم عزلهم من مجلس العموم عام 1648، وذلك لإعادة تشكيل البرلمان الطويل لفترة كافية تسمح لبرلمان كامل بالموافقة على انتخابات هيئة تشريعية جديدة. [ 3 ]
  • 27 فبراير - أعيد جون ثورلو إلى منصبه كوزير دولة إنجلترا ، بعد أن تم تجريده من مناصبه في أواخر العام السابق.
  • 3 مارس - أُلقي القبض على الجنرال جون لامبرت ، الذي حاول إيقاف عودة الملكية، وسُجن في برج لندن . هرب في 9 أبريل، لكن أُعيد القبض عليه في 24 أبريل. ورغم أنه نجا من عقوبة الإعدام بتهمة الخيانة عام 1662، إلا أنه ظل مسجونًا في جزيرة غيرنسي لبقية حياته حتى وفاته عن عمر يناهز 64 عامًا في 1 مارس 1684. [ 8 ]
  • 16 مارس - بعد إعادة تشكيل البرلمان الطويل لأول مرة منذ أكثر من 11 عامًا، يصوت على حل نفسه ويدعو إلى انتخابات جديدة لما سيصبح برلمان المؤتمر للعودة من الجمهورية إلى الملكية. [ 3 ]
  • 31 مارس - انتهت الحرب في جزر الهند الغربية بين شعب الكاريب الأصلي ، واليسوعيين الفرنسيين والإنجليز الذين استعمروا الجزر، بمعاهدة تم توقيعها في باس تير في غوادلوب في مقر إقامة الحاكم الفرنسي، شارل هويل دو بوتي بري . [ 9 ]
